Finance Manager

About the Role

The Finance Manager will be responsible for financial and risk management operations of the company. This will include, the development of a financial and risk strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the development and monitoring of financial control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, interpret and review financial information

  • Predict future financial trends. Report to management and stakeholders, providing advice on how the company and future business decisions might be impacted

  • Produce financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses amongst others, and develop a long-term financial plan based on these reports

  • Develop financial and tax strategies to minimize financial risk

  • Analyze market trends and competition in collaboration with Sales/Marketing team

  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing and other transactions

  • Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decisions

  • Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package in collaboration with the Human Resource team

  • Monitor all open Financial legal issues involving the company

  • Review, modify and monitor control systems

  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage

  • Ensure that the company complies with all financial legal and regulatory requirements in relations to Tax, SSNIT, PAYEE etc

  • Maintain an internal audit and ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of investors, external auditors and government agencies

  • Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

  • Maintain banking relationships and liaise with creditors/investors on deal structuring

Qualification

  • Master’s degree in business administration – finance option, or equivalent business experience in same role

  • 5+ years in senior management position for an Agro-Processing or FMCG company

  • Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships

  • Commercial and business awareness

  • A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data

  • Ability to stick to time constraints

    Preference will be given to candidates who have ACCA, CIMA, CFA professional qualifications. Candidate should be proficient in use of Tally ERP and Quick Books.
